Cycle of talks: Diversity, Culture and the Elderly | The Gender identity.
How Does Gender Influence the Elderly?
Does loneliness especially affect older women? What is the risk of gender-based violence? And what are the circumstances of vulnerability that LGTBI seniors face? A talk to delve into these aspects and the role that culture can play.
With the participation of the professor and doctor in psychology Montserrat Celdrán of the board of the Friends of the Elderly, the professor Josep Maria Mesquida of the Enllaç Foundation who works with LGTBI elderly people and the psychologist Susana Rodríguez of the Aroa Foundation, coordinator of the Area of Therapeutic Care for Women.
With the help of social and professional organizations in the sector, we will ask ourselves how gender intersects with the elderly, how they make use of new technologies and finally how care for the elderly is and what benefits they can find in culture. The talks have been designed by Apropa Cultura in collaboration with the National Art Museum of Catalonia.
