Campaign dedicated to vulnerable groups of women
Why women in a vulnerable situation?
We are living in a period of history, vindication and collective awareness of gender inequalities. Inequalities aggravated by the confluence of discrimination by social class, functional diversity, ethnicity, health, life cycle, among many others.
Apropa Cultura wants to join the movements that promote an intersectional and gender perspective, in order to achieve a more egalitarian and inclusive society. Therefore, the 19/20 season focused on organizations working with women in vulnerable situations. It is a very transversal group, with very invisible problems, complex needs and challenges, but we believe that culture and access to it can and must be a traveling companion, transformative and committed.
We listen to the diversity of voices of women in a situation of vulnerability: women who have suffered or are suffering from gender-based violence, migrant women, women linked to the practice of prostitution ... We approach their (our) realities, to understand the challenges and needs, with the aim of reflecting on the role that culture can or should play in their lives.
With the collaboration of social organizations and cultural facilities, we have designed a program of activities with the aim of giving visibility to the work they do of these social entities and how culture can help achieve a more inclusive society.
These activities are aimed at professionals in cultural and social facilities. In each activity we will create a group of people to share experiences related to women and culture.
