Homelessness
Close to Culture dedicates the 2022/23 campaign to homeless people
Why people in a situation of homelessness?
Why homeless people? The situation in which homeless people live continues to be unknown to the majority of the population. They are made invisible and their rights are violated every day. Living on the street or finding yourself in a situation of sensellarisme is not a decision, but precisely the absence of an alternative due to systemic or structural circumstances.
It is necessary to make visible and raise awareness about homelessness, it is the way to build a more just and co-responsible society. What can we do from the field of culture?
Close to Culture We dedicate the 2022/23 season to homeless people, because we believe that culture is key due to its ability to establish links, generate sustainable relationships and open up new possibilities. We will work against the stigma, discrimination and exclusion of homelessness in collaboration with cultural teams and social entities that work.
Culture can accompany people in a homeless situation, because it is not only about surviving, but about opening up the possibility of living meaningful, full lives in community.
Homeless people deserve the opportunity to access and enjoy culture. Access to culture is a fundamental right, it has an important impact on the recovery process of the personal vital project and social relations.
During the 22/23 season we will watch over to make the invisible visible, because culture is everyone's home

Acto Anual El Hogar de Todas | Temporada 22/23
The activities of the campaign will focus on the social entities that work with the group of homeless people. These are centers, associations, foundations, services and social centers that face many challenges to improve the quality of life of these people.
With the collaboration of social entities and cultural facilities, we have designed a program of activities with the aim of giving visibility to the work carried out by these social entities and how culture can help achieve a more inclusive society . These activities are aimed at professionals in cultural and social facilities.
At each activity we will create a group of people to share experiences related to the homeless.
