The Andalusians Enrique Oliver and Daniel Torres lead Tenorism, a quintet devoted to the sounds of the tenor sax and, more specifically, to the style of jazz of the 1940s and ‘50s – in other words a set of styles like swing, bebop and hard bop. That was a period of iconic recordings by illustrious tenor players like Ben Webster, Coleman Hawkins, Sonny Rollins and John Coltrane. Oliver and Torres, two of the most important musicians of the latest generations of our jazz scene, recover the most authentic spirit of that period with a top-class band. And, as if that were not enough, they have a truly excellent tenor sax player as special guest: Rick Margitza. He regularly played with Miles Davis in the 1980s, also appearing with Elis Marsalis, McCoy Tyner, Chick Corea, Maria Schneider and a long list of others, as well as recording several solo albums with the Blue Note label.
