At the monumental site of Sant Sebastià de la Guarda you will find a recently consolidated and signposted Iberian settlement (6th to 1st centuries BC), a 15th-century watchtower (Cultural Asset of National Interest), an 18th-century hermitage and inn and a 19th-century lighthouse. Right at the top of a mountain with cliffs, at 100 metres above sea level, from where you can take several excursions through the massif, following the Mediterranean long-distance footpath.
We recommend you to climb up to the watchtower, which was a defence construction to guard the coastal area and protect it from possible invasions by corsairs and pirates, which still preserves many original features. Once at the top, between the merlons that crown it, you will be able to contemplate one of the most beautiful views on the Costa Brava.
